Prof. Scott D. Johnson, dean of the School of Management at the University of Michigan – Flint (UM-Flint), together with Prof. Clement CHEN, visited ECUST School of Business on March 24, 2014. Prof. Huang Lujin, dean of ECUST School of Business, met with the visiting guests. Prof. Ruan Yongping, director of the School’s Department of Accounting and head of the Institute of Corporate Finance, and Ms. Zhou Qiong from the School’s International Office, also attended the meeting with the foreign guests.

UM-Flint and ECUST established their cooperative ties in 2007. Within the cooperation framework, each university can send its postgraduates to the other university to take postgraduate courses, and the students would eventually earn master’s degrees from both universities. In 2010, the two sides launched the ECUST- UM-Flint 3+2 Program. Students in the ECUST- UM-Flint 3+2 Program go to UM-Flint in their senior year to study for a master’s degree after completing undergraduate courses within three years at ECUST, and eventually earn a bachelor’s degree from ECUST and a master’s degree from UM-Flint. The ECUST- UM-Flint 3+2 Program has received much favorable comment from the students.

Prof. Scott D. Johnson mentioned that the cooperation model between UM-Flint and ECUST proved to be very successful. He said that ECUST had sent a lot of outstanding students to UM-Flint, and that UM-Flint planned to offer scholarships to the exchange students from ECUST. Meanwhile, he hoped that the two sides would expand their cooperation to other fields.
