Lecturer Zhao Yan from the Department of Economics, ECUST School of Business, attended the 46th Annual Conference of the Canadian Economics Association, which was held at the University of Calgary, June 8-10, 2012. During the conference, Mr. Zhao Yan presented his paper “Borrowing constraints and the trade balance-output comovement”.

Moreover, Mr. Zhao Yan presided over the session of Financial Economics I. Scholars from Queens University and Industry Canada presented their papers on the session. Many other scholars, including those from Carleton University and University of Calgary, also participated in the discussion. Later, the participants extended their congratulations to Mr. Zhao Yan on the successful session. 

During the three-day conference, Mr. Zhao Yan actively took part in the academic discussion and learnt much about the latest development in other fields. For example, Mr. Zhao listened to the keynote speech on the real-estate market in North America, which was made by Prof. John Campbell, Chair of the Harvard Department of Economics.

The Annual Conference of the Canadian Economics Association is the major annual event of the association. It represents an annual forum for the dissemination of Canadian and international research.
