On the afternoon of May 26th, over 40 teachers of International Economics and Trade from 23 universities in Shanghai attended “The 6th Round-table Conference of Shanghai Universities’ International Economics and Trade Teaching and Research Groups” held by ECUST School of Business. The teachers from Department of Economics and some postgraduates of School of Business participated in the conference. Prof. Wu Baijun, dean of School of Business, extended his warm welcome to the guests and introduced the development situation of Applied Economics of School of Business. He also expressed his hope that the conference would promote the development of the discipline.

Next, Associate Prof. Wang Xiaoguang, director of Department of Economics, delivered a welcome speech. He hoped to promote the development of International Economics and Trade discipline with the teachers from other universities in Shanghai.

The conference was composed of two sessions. In the first session, scholars made keynote speeches. In the second session, the research group and the teaching group had extensive communication about academic problems and teaching methods.

Since 2009 when the 1st Round-table Conference of Shanghai Universities’ International Economics and Trade Teaching and Research Groups was held, the conference has been successfully held for 6 times, and has become an important communication platform for teachers of International Economics and Trade in Shanghai universities.
