On the afternoon of Dec. 25, Fengjing (China) Building Materials Group Co., Ltd. and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) held a signing ceremony for the setting up of “Fengjing Scholarship” in Room 102 of the 3rd teaching building of ECUST. The ceremony was attended by ECUST Vice President Qian Feng, Deputy Director of President Office Liu Zhipeng, Dean of School of Business Wu Baijun, Deputy Dean of School of Business Huang Lujin, Director of School of Business Alumni Center Yuan Zhujun, President of Fengjing Group Ren Hongqing (MBA alumnus of ECUST), HR Manager of Fengjing Group Yang Haigang, etc.

Deputy Dean Huang Lujin presided over the ceremony. She extended sincere gratitude to Mr. Ren Hongqing and Mr. Yang Haigang for their supporting the education of ECUST.

Dean Wu Baijun thanked Mr. Ren for his contribution to his Alma Mater and to the public welfare. Dean Wu said that our university would make full use of the scholarship to solve students’ financial difficulties so that they could focus on their studies.

Mr. Ren Hongqing said that Fengjing Group would donate 1 million RMB to support environment protection and education. Starting from this year, Fengjing Group will donate over 1 million RMB in total in a period of 5 years to support poor students who are good at studies from School of Business, School of Chemical Engineering, and School of Materials Science and Engineering.

On behalf of ECUST, Vice President Qian Feng thanked Mr. Ren for his great support for the education of ECUST. In return, ECUST will provide superior skills and talents for Fengjing Group. In addition, Qian mentioned the ECUST Education Development Foundation, which collects donations from society and use the money to support teaching and research, award outstanding teachers and students, as well as subsidize poor students. The Foundation serves as an important platform for alumni to make donations to ECUST and as a bridge to strengthen communication between ECUST and the society.

In the end, Vice President Qian Feng sent a souvenir on behalf of the university to Mr. Ren Hongqing. The signing ceremony closed in cheerful atmosphere with the two sides wishing to work together to make more contributions to education.
