Professor Yan Shanping from Doshisha University (Japan) gave a lecture entitled “An analysis of China’s economic miracle and its future” at ECUST School of Business on the afternoon of November 9, 2015.

Starting from analysis of the problems such as sources of economic growth, and demographic transition/dividend, Professor Yan probed into the necessary and sufficient conditions of China’s economic growth, and then made a deep interpretation of China’s economic miracle. Based on the historical experience and lessons of Japan’s economic development, Professor Yan discussed how China’s economy could go beyond the “middle-income trap” and enter the high-income-country phase. In the end, Professor Yan speculated on the development trend of China’s economy.

The teachers and students present had further in-depth discussion with Professor Yan on concerning issues after the lecture.
