A group of 17 EMBA students, alumni and teachers from ECUST School of Business, led by the school’s Deputy Dean Huang Lujin and EMBA Programs Director Zhang Weiwei, brought donations and love to the poor children in Songtao County of Guizhou Province during August 21st-25th,2015. 

The donation ceremony was held on August 23rd in Yajia Village of Songtao County. Leaders of the Songtao County government attended the ceremony.

Every aided child received an envelope stuffed with 600 yuan and a donator’s contact from the EMBA delegation. The delegation also visited some poor children’s homes and brought gifts to them.

Mr. Wu Yangfu, Mayor of Songtao County, met with the EMBA delegation and expressed gratitude to ECUST EMBA Program for their long-term support to Songtao County.

The EMBA delegates also attended a meeting at which they listened to work reports made by Songtao county government staff, and exchanged ideas on how to further develop economy and education in Songtao County.

Songtao is an impoverished county in Guizhou Province, China. In October 2012, ECUST School of Business and Songtao County government signed an agreement to co-launch the “Integration-into-City” Program, which includes a series of public welfare projects concerning poverty alleviation through education, charitable donations, etc. For example, the EMBA Program of ECUST School of Business, started to subsidize a number of poor children in Songtao County each year since 2013. So far, the EMBA Program has subsidized 300 poor children in Songtao County with the donation amount totaling RMB 300,000 yuan.
