At the invitation of the Institute of E-business, Associate Prof. Jiang Zhenhui from National University of Singapore (NUS) gave an academic report at ECUST School of Business on the morning of Jan. 11, 2013.

The topic of Jiang’s report was “Privacy Concerns and Privacy-Protective Behavior in Synchronous Online Social Interactions”, which is to be published on Information Systems Research. In the beginning, Jiang put forward a question – Why do many people say they pay attention to privacy protection on social network sites while they continuously reveal personal information to others? What makes their actions inconsistent with their words?” Later, by taking social media as examples, Jiang introduced the models and hypotheses. Then he explained the methods of data collection and revealed the results of data analysis. In the end, he summarized the values of the paper and introduced his future research interests.

After the report meeting, the teachers present had much discussion with Associate Prof. Jiang Zhenhui on the latest research problems of information privacy and social media.
