Annual Alumni Reunion Day Held at School of Business

On Jan. 12, the ECUST School of Business Alumni Reunion Day was grandly held. Nearly 300 alumni returned to the school for reunion.

During the reunion day, ECUST officially launched the “Fengjing Scholarship” with a total amount of 1.05 million yuan donated by Mr. Ren Hongqing, an MBA alumnus of Class 2006. The Fengjing Scholarship will be used to help poor students of ECUST. In the afternoon, the opening ceremony of the ECUST Energy & Chemical Industry Club was held. The club gathers many elites from the energy and chemical industry. The club provides a platform for the alumni to share resources, exchange ideas, cooperate with each other, develop business, expand social network, etc. Mr. Liu Zhipeng, deputy director of President’s Office and deputy secretary general of ECUST Alumni Association, made a speech at the opening ceremony of the club. Prof. Yu Guangsuo, director of the Institute of Clean Coal Technology, made a special report on “The Development Trend of China’s Coal Energy and Chemical Industry”, which was highly praised by the club members and other alumni.

On the reunion day, ECUST School of Business Alumni Center specially invited Prof. Ge Jianxiong, chief librarian of Fudan University, to speak on “Situations and Prospects of China’s Borderlands”. Prof. Yan Haifeng, deputy dean of School of Business, delivered a speech on “What Makes Successful Managers?” The wonderful speeches given by the two professors won warm applause from the audience.

In the recent years, ECUST School of Business, promotes service for alumni with the concept of “Constructing Life Community” and lays much emphasis on establishing an interpersonal communication platform. In 2013, the School will welcome more alumni to come back for reunion to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the School.
