(A) Pursue the Truth Freely - Visiting Berkeley Campus
On October 3, 2017, delegation from ECUST School of Business visited the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). UCB enjoys a good reputation in academia and is regarded as one of the freest and inclusive universities in the United States and one of the most important research and teaching centers in the world.
Mr. Tu Qingsong, a postdoctoral student of Berkeley, who studied battery life technology, warmly welcomed us and introduced Berkeley's history to us in detail. He showed us to visited the beautiful campus, several libraries, the teaching buildings and several key departments. Mr. Tu also invited us to visit the UAV laboratory and we were fortunate enough to have a close exchange with the students who were doing research.
(B) innovation Creates Excellence - Studying at HAAS School of Business
In the afternoon, we went to Berkeley HAAS School of Business to study. Mr. Ajay Bam gave a lecture of entrepreneurship course. He used to work in a large multinational company and successfully started his own business, and was later invited to join the Berkeley HAAS School of Business to teach. He was also CEO of Xinchuang Company. Entrepreneurship courses started from three aspects including opportunities, resources and team. With lively and interesting cases and information sharing, Mr. Ajay Bam showed an array of information and means about American entrepreneurship. Focusing on financing channels, he made in-depth discussion and sharing. With lively information data varying, we could listen to the lecture and think about it and feel the innovative spirit of Silicon Valley. This was a fantastic course of exploration. Innovative teaching methods and unique analysis effectively expanded our horizons and reinforced our understanding of innovation creating excellence.
