Professor QU Jingping expressed his expectations for SEIBS. SEIBS should focus on scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, high-tech industrial transformation to strengthen the connection between business and technology. Secondly, the school should “go global” confidently by introducing China’s higher education with ECUST characteristics. Thirdly, joint efforts should be made in building a “Belt and Road” educational community to increase understanding, expand openness, strengthen cooperation, and draw mutual inspiration in order to seek common interests, face common destiny, and undertake joint responsibility. SEIBS should serve as a bridge between China and Europe for cultural exchanges.

He stated that “Cooperation between two universities not only strengthens exchanges of students and faculty, but also highlights cultural communication between China and Romania. It is expected that the School will adhere to the innovation spirit in the future so as to contribute further scientific research innovation.”
Mr. Aurelian NEAGU, Consul General of Romania in Shanghai, extended his congratulations to the establishment of the SEIBS. Internationalization Feature: Explore the Dream
ECUST School of Business (hereinafter referred to as the School) was founded in 1990 with the mission of “to bridge business with technology, and to nurture managerial talents with advanced knowledge and practical ability”. The School has synchronized development with the university and deeply rooted in the university’s profound industry background and distinctive discipline characteristics, which forms a close connection with the industry.
Internationalization is an important feature of the School. The School has launched joint and exchange programs with universities from several countries in Europe, America, and Latin America, and constructed three English-taught programs at both Bachelor and Master level, which have greatly facilitated international students to study in China. In 2018, the School has been awarded AMBA re-accreditation for the longest duration (5 years) unconditionally. Currently, ECUST is one of the only three universities passed AMBA re-accreditation unconditionally in mainland China besides Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Zhejiang University.
Under the guidance of the "Belt and Road Initiative" , the internationalization of Chinese business education is not only a process of going global but also a process of bring-in. During this process, it is necessary to aligned with international standards and blend into local industries so as to combine internationalization with localization, and to steer into the advisable path of development.
Upholding this concept, the School applies "Internationalization" strategy and focuses on the development of the two distinctive cooperation with Thailand and Romania: undergraduate and postgraduate programs with Chiang Mai University in Thailand and the SEIBS jointly established with ULBS in Romania. Through the cooperation of SEIBS, the School will introduce its educational program to central and eastern European countries, with the main force to set up a curriculum that combines Western paradigms with introduction to Chinese business environment. Aiming to cultivate talents who would like to do business with China in central and eastern European countries, the School helps to boost the development of Chinese companies in central and eastern Europe, thereby further deepening the understanding on the path and mechanism of Chinese companies’ internationalization.
Working vigorously to serve the country's "Belt and Road Initiative" is not only an indispensable opportunity for universities and colleges but also a compelling obligation for them. Professor YAN Haifeng, Dean of the School of Business, stated that the school will fully utilize the unique advantages of close relationship with overseas universities, institutions, local industries and enterprises in the future. The School will focus on promoting internationalization from all aspects and improving education quality. In this process, the School will continue developing the in-depth integration of school operation and industrial services, and laying foundation for the new "Silk Road Dream" with business wisdom.
